This yet-to-be-named bar (referred to by locals as No Name Bar), is outfitted in wall-to-wall wood, from its sturdy, dark stained exterior to its solid wood floors and cedar-paneled ceiling. Bar manager Jessica Wertz, responsible for the design, wanted it to have the feel of a tavern in an ancient Chinese trading village.

Cubana Social is “1940s Havana meets Brooklyn” We serve Cuban style eats, coffee/espresso, and classic cocktails with Brooklyn’s focus on the homemade, local, creative, & delicious. Social’s space is built out of a 2500sq ft former industrial factory. It’s wide open with old fashioned details, an 1840s hand refinished bar, and large black and white checkered stage, reminiscent of the cabarets and nightclubs in Havana’s hey-day.
Our mission is to serve the best quality food & beverages (local, sustainable, organic whenever possible); to create a culturally rich & lively experience; to build community that brings together locals, creators & lovers of the arts, foodies, & visitors from across the globe; to support & showcase live jazz & world music; & to provide excellent quality service to all our customers and friends.

“… a new, slightly upscale deli in an unexpected locale. At the hopping corner of Third Avenue and 86th Street in Bay Ridge, Gold Coast looks more like a bar than a delicatessen, but the tweaked matzo-ball soup, corned beef, and, especially, the pastrami — which might just be better than anything you’ll find in Manhattan — are all totally on the money.”
